The Remote Sensing and GIS Cell of Scitech Park, Pune was established in the year 2001-2002 for the exclusive purpose of bringing together world's best practices in satellite image processing, and relevant Science & Technology inputs for the benefit of common man. The cell conducts need based sectoral training programmes mainly in the areas of Urban Area Planning and E-Governance, Land Use Land Cover Mapping, Disaster Management, Forestry and Ecology, 3D Mapping using Stereo data, Watershed Management, Eco-tourism Potential Assessment, Predictive Change Management using time series satellite data, Ground Surveys using Global Positioning System (GPS) and Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS).

We have excelled in developing world's first open source GIS based fully web enabled e-governance solution called GISDA – GIS based Dynamic Administration. GISDA has been presented to the JnNURM review committee and has met with the approval as “the” ideal solution for e-transformation of Urban Local Bodies.

• High Resolution Satellite Image Processing for preparing Land Use Land cover studies for support in development plan preparation
• Conducting High Accuracy Surveys for establishing Ground reference points to be used to create very accurate GIS based spatial data and attribute  data, including property,carpet area, topographic surveys
• GIS based mapping of flora & fauna  elements using high resolution satellite imagery for understanding impacts on environment
• Expertise in handling low resolution satellite images like IRS-LISS-PAN to High  resolution Satellite images like IKONOS ,QuickBird, Worldview, Cartosat etc.
• Continuous development of GIS based Open Source ERP solutions for Urban Local Bodies as per JnNURM guidelines in e-governance
